I'll keep this brief for obvious reasons - I support local users at a remote site. Central IT has a very secure master image for the macs (in this case an Intel iMac) which either remaps or masks common boot keys ( holding down "c" to force a CDROM boot etc.).
I have a couple of iMacs I want to dedicate to a special task and need to get the current image off ---- to do this I plan to crack'em open and blast the hard drives using Gparted so I now have a clean HD. But ... do these mappings exist as part of the OS image or do I need to reset NVRAM ?
Yes ... I could ask the nice folks in IT ... but we'd have endless meetings --- fill out a "support deviation request" and in 3 months I might have an answer
