Where are Imessage names?

My Series 4 used to show the name of the message recipient but as of a few days ago, it now just shows a telephone number with the message. How do I get my message recipient name back?

No problem. I’ve found it very useful especially when my calendar stops syncing.

Got my contacts back. Thanks for the reset tip. Took a couple if tries but I think it took after I turned my iphone off and back on and tried it again.
