where are log files?

hi,

i have a nas which is connecting at boot. sometimes it doesnt work and it only says after boot:

at connecting with the server "ip adress" and failure occured - hope the translation is correct.

i want to know what was the failure! why did it not connect!

Easiest access to macOS system logs is through the Console app. Try looking in the "All Messages" log aggregation first, or in the system.log file. If you want to go Old School, most of the system logs are in /var/log. Fair warning - Apple software writes a lot of relatively useless stuff into the log files.
