when I download something, I cannot find it. It doesn't appear on the desk top, nor does it appear on my hard drive. Where do I go to find them?

Thanks.:(

like the above user mentioned, it should be in the downloads folder in your home directory. if you still can't find it, try doing a spotlight search for the file. for future downloads, you can change the preferences (from the app you used to download the file) to have the files download to the desktop or wherever you want them to be.

I am so clueless

you said I would find my download folders in the home directory. I am new to the mac so where would I find the home directory? I have a folder for me but it's not there. I looked in the finder and all the folders and found nothing that I downloaded. I just don't know where to look and what to click on. Can someone please school me?:D
