where are the 500 gig 7200 rpm laptop drives?

That is what i am waiting for... I think they need 3 plates for the 500Gb ... so thats probably causing trouble...

I hope they will push them out soon

There's a discussion about the Seagate Momentus 7200.4 drives going on here. Post #215 does not sound too promising, though.

i didn't check out what ben posted above...but buy.com has it on their site, but Out of Stock!

Yeah, all the internet stores that have added these drives to their catalog, list the drive as being out of stock. It seems the drives haven't been formally introduced by Seagate yet. In fact, nobody really seems to know if Seagate has even started manufacturing them yet. I really hope they have, but am preparing for the worst. The wait continues...

Momentus 5400.6 and 7200.4 hard drives are now on track to ship in late January.
