I am waiting to get the last generation on 12" powerbooks.

I think this last line is going to be very good because Apple will add all the latest features before selling the new intel based machines.

The same patern happened with the Pismo line before tha Titanium came up. The Pismo had so many features that still a classic and even better actually than the next 3 revisions of the Ti.

I hop to see the same thing, probably a 12" with lighted keyboard. If that happen that mean the next version will be Intel based.

Hey, don't wish for a new powerbook. I have the latest 12" and I don't want them to come out with a new one. Then I'll feel like my computer is old and I'm obligated to buy a new one. :) :)

They're coming.......3 months later- they're still coming..... 3 months later- they're coming...... NEW POWERBOOKS!- 12" 1.67ghz 80gb, 15"/17" 1.73ghz 100gb. AMAZING improvement like usual.

To the people who have been waiting for the new PB after the expo....

YOU GOT PUNKED

Agreed, if you want a new Powerbook, get one now. Otherwise be prepared to wait at least 12-18 months until descent intels roll out.

Isn't it the same with every new Mac product? Steve keeps them in a sock under his bed so that Bill can't come 'round and steal/copy/laugh at them.

The new powerbooks are all hidden in my bathroom.

I share it with my bathroom, and even I don't want to go in it.

I had to put on a hazmat suit to put them in the un-used tub.

...just get a powerbook now, if you want it! :)

Well all you have to do is wait a week and see if new Powerbooks come out. Last Tuesday it was the Nano, this week the Xserve, next week the Powerbook.

agreed. but a powermac update with the powerbook, so there is more power with power line.

I'll bet they don't come out until at least after September 24th, which is when the big PowerBook/Free iPod student deal ends. Although, it may even be later than that.

I'm soooo glad I didn't jump on the waiting band wagon over a month ago when I was trying to decide when to buy my powerbook for school.

I've enjoyed my new powerbook for a month now. It would have been quite wierd starting school without it, still waiting...

I agree we are likely to see some updates on tuesday or at latest the tuesday after that, along with some updated powermac G5's...

Where are the new Powerbooks????

There won't be any. Not for you anyway. Apple are shipping them all to me. I'm going to line my roof with powerbooks to keep me nice and warm this winter :)

Just buy a damn PowerBook if you want one, no sense in waiting because no one knows how long you will have to wait, despite what some may say.

I love how people keep saying, "NEW POWERBOOKS NEXT TUESDAY." deja vu of the ibook thread anyone?
