I am getting ready to make the switch to a PowerBook from my PC, and have chosen the 15" 1.67Ghz PowerBook with 128 MB VRAM. I feel that getting it from the Apple Store (even with the Education Discount) is kind of a ripoff with the tax and all, but I can't find an independent retailer that sells custom PowerBooks like this (with the extra VRAM). Any ideas?

Keep in mind that there is currently a $100 mail-in rebate for computers purchased from the education store in addition to the normal discount, which I think is good until June 25. That would cancel out at least a portion of the tax, and you could get exactly what you wanted.
