Can I still get one in person from an Apple store? I don't like the new aluminum phones. The natural titanium was so nice and I've wanted to get one for while now. Now that i have the money, I decided to see what the 17 Pro would be like and... yuck! They completely ruined it. Wish they would have stuck with last year's options. So much more elegant. But I'd rather not buy a used one. I want one with a new battery, never used. Is this still possible? Carrier unlocked.

Just sucks spending all that money and not being able to have both the newest phone and the one you want. I went through the same problem with the titanium powerbook. By the time I was ready to buy they changed to aluminum. I wish they would just stick with titanium for their premium stuff.

I think buying from carrier is really your best bet for brand new iPhone 16 pro max, subject to stock availability. Local Walmart or best buy (assuming you live in US) or local supermarket equivalent might also have some left over stock. At this point new ones aren’t shipped yet so those who want 16 pro series probably will just buy whatever they can get their hands on.

Some brick and mortar Apple stores might still have dwindling stock of the outgoing models although you might have limited storage options.

Carriers still have it as well online (and probably some in-store stock).

Yeah but with carriers you have to sign up for their service right. You can't just buy it from them unlocked and go elsewhere right?
If you just pay outright I don’t see why you must sign up, unless they force you to sign up a 2-3 year contract.

Yeah, service is required and I think with AT&T and Verizon, you can only unlock after 60 days even if you pay in full. Have to wait until then before cancelling service.

Easy to say with the benefit of hindsight, but the best thing to have done would have been to have bought the 16 before the announcement of the 17 from an Apple Store and then you could’ve taken it back for an exchange or refund within the returns period if you liked the 17 better.
