Like in my Black macbook were can I go to check my processor temperature and stuff like that? If I can? Thanks

download a widget called istat pro. it gives you temp, and anything else you could ask for about your system..works great and i love it

Edit:

damn you i posted one second too late
:p

ill add this though, there is an app called SMC fan control, it lets you control your fans, and also it's menu bar icon displays your CPU temperature

Seriously, iStat Pro is practically a requirement for Mac owners. Also, you might want smcFanControl, with which you can set your fans to ludicrous speed when you're bored. :D

And so were you

I was late because I actually bothered to provide a link and then format it

well, i ignored the thread for a second...then it still had no replies so i went back to answer it, and then i accidently typed desktop widget insted of dashboard so i went back and changed that, then i was the second reply:(

oh well:D

and its funny you mention providing a link, i was going to post my reply first then go find the link and edit it in.

Why do you think that? The whole advantage, as I see it, to the Mac platform is specifically that you DON'T need to delve into any of that technical back end stuff. And for the only times when I need system data, Activity Monitor shows me all that I care about and more.

Why on earth would a person care about knowing the exact temperature that their computer is running at? If it's too hot for comfort, then that's all you need to know. And as long as it's not searingly hot to the touch, then the computer is in no danger of heat damage.

I just can't think of a situation where it'd be useful to know the exact temperature of my computer or any other info beyond what's reported in Activity Monitor. Could you describe a couple to me?
