I'm interested to see what WWDC's are like...
Can someone tell me what goes on besides a new iPhone announcement?

It's a developer conference (as the name says). It's sessions and talks for developers. Stuff that's useless for the average person. Much of the information doesn't get published. People would be pretty pissed if they paid $1600 (plus flight and hotel) when anyone could view the talks or download the sample code for free. Other than the keynote, you're not going to see much of anything from a previous WWDC.

ALL previously recorded WWDC sessions (up to and including 2008) are available for free for developers who have a paid developer membership. And it only costs $99. The 2009 / 2010 content can be purchased separately for people who did not attend WWDC, and the content will eventually be added to the free pool.
