I have VOB files on my computer (no access to the original DVD/camcorder) and I need to convert them into usable video file types. MOV, MPG4, etc.
Any idea where I can get one that's free?

sorry for being so new... but what the heck is VOB?

im sure you can download something from google. Any ways you may have to pay for one of those pro softwares or take it to a professional video shop that can do that with the software they get.

vob converter

vob files usually contain mpeg2 coding for dvd's

try handbrake to convert them to mpeg4 files

i'm still trying to get quicktime pro with the mpeg2 reader to work well.

MPEG Streamclip (freeware) can demux and convert non-encrypted VOB files into many editable codecs as well as many delivery codecs.
