Couldn't find a guide on this, so I thought I'd ask: where is a good resource for clone-era Apple computers? Specifically, how much money did Apple make/lose on the venture, was it profitable for the hardware manufacturers who sold Apple clones, and why is it so unlikely that Apple would ever try this again?
I really didn't want to post a FAQ... like I said, I looked through the guides and couldn't find the answers I was looking for.
