I'm running 10.4.10 on a PowerBook G4 and here's the small question I have:

I was playing with things in the Universal Access preference pane. Afterwards, some tabs and options got a highlight ring around them.

You can see the ring around "restart," and the tabs below is from Azureus and got a ring around "Pieces," which can actually be moved with arrow keys. Pressing space bar will select the tab, or press the button.

I've seen this behavior coming and going in the couple years I used the PowerBook but was never sure where this could be set. Any ideas?

System Preferences --> Keyboard & Mouse --> Keyboard Shortcuts --> Full keyboard access:

"All controls" gives you the highlighting, enabling you to move the focus using the keyboard. "Text boxes and lists only" turns it off.

You can also toggle it without going into System Preferences using Control-F7 (or Control-fn-F7 if your PB is set up to use the function keys for hardware controls).

Great! Thanks a lot. I must've hit ^F7 when I was hunting for unfamiliar keyboard shortcuts.
