iPod touch Where can i get free software for my ipod touch 2G

ive recently tried to jailbreak my ipod and failed miserably, now when i plug the ipod into the computer and put it into DFU mode, itunes says that i have to restore it. Ok so i click restore and then this message pops up ->"Software for this ipod is not currently available. Make sure you have the latest version of itunes and try again".

where can i get this software?

The App Store has thousands of free applications that don't require jailbreaking. Give them a shot!
