So i just bought a macbook pro from bestbuy for 999 and wanted to upgrade the ram, I have done it on many other laptops but they said they didn't have the correct ram at bestbuy when went.I wanted to know does anyone know where I can get a half decent stick I don't want anything to fancy like kingston hyperx ram :p just some average ram at a decent price.

Odds are Best Buy does have the correct RAM, they just don't know it. Looks up the specs for RAM on your machine and buy whatever is cheapest that meets the specs and from a vendor you believe will be around if you have a warranty issue. RAM really is a commodity item at this point.

Newegg mentioned by snaky69 is a good place to check as well as Amazon.

Not necessarily. In a thread last week a forum member was looking at some Kingston RAM for his Macbook and the Best Buy price was pretty close to online like Amazon etc. It is worth checking to compare.
 
First is it one of the rmbp models? The retina versions cannot be upgraded. The cmbp models (those without the IPS display and updated design) still use sodimms. If it is workable I would suggest testing all ram upon installation. There have been many instances where people experiencing computer problems received bad ram upgrades. It's common enough to be worth preemptive testing.
