Hi,
first, i'd like to fully acknowledge that I might be a putz by asking this question here instead of googling, but really...who knows better than true mac folks? I'd rather cut to the chase and ask here b/c i know i'll get faster and better answers
(that's not a suck-up either.....pure truth
so, i was looking at adding more storage to my g5 dual 2.0. i have 1 add'tl internal, 1 FW800 G-drive (which I love). I was about to add another g-drive or g-raid and then i started hearing about e-sata. The possibilities sound more inviting to add more storage, cost-effectively. I was thinking a disk array with 3 or 5 internal e-sata drives would be wicked if i could add as I went (ie. start out with 1 or 2 and then add later). BUt, i really need to understand what e-sata is and any ramifications of performance relating to the g5 (which i love btw).
I do video and audio editing so space is very much needed. I'm somewhat budget limited so i'm doing my homework to invest properly.
help me obi-wans.
Cheers,
Keebler
