create tabs on my toolbar so that I don't always have to keep typing in the address? On my pc I could just click on the address bar and get the link I need, but that doesn't happen with the imac. Any link on the Internet I can go to for this or can someone guide me? Thanks.

1. Go to the site.
2. Click "Bookmarks", "Add Bookmark" (or press :apple: D)
3. Enter a name in the first field, set the second field to "Bookmarks Bar"

Either you're done, or I misunderstood your question and I apologize!

im not sure what you mean? please explain more clearly.

do you mean you want to use tabs in Safari? enable them in Safari's preferences.

or do you mean you want bookmarks on Safari's toolbar? you can this my clicking Bookmarks -> Add Bookmark... in the menu and select Bookmarks Bar.

Rather than keep typing a web address, link into the address bar i.e. http://www.yahoo.com, I'd like to be able to click on the "yahoo" tab under the adress bar. And I'd like to do this for other links I use often. Still confusing?

Bookmark a page (Command+D) and add it to the "Bookmark Bar." This will add a link to it under the address bar.

Tabs are a completely different thing, which is why you may have confused people.

You can also highlight the address in the address bar, hold the mouse button over it for 1 second then drag it to the area under the address bar.

Tried different

methods which works, but when I shut down my computer and restart, they disappear. But at least I can go to the bookmark bar to get them and open them in tabs for the day. Thanks all.

Or just drag the site’s icon (its ‘favicon’) from the left of the address in the Location Bar, and drop it onto your Bookmarks Bar. Then no need to wait for the text field to become draggable.
