I have an early 2008 white 2.1 GHz Macbook that I purchased in July 2008. I bought it for school and figured that the 1 GB of RAM that it came with at the time would suffice. As time has gone on, though, it has not and I have finally decided to upgrade the RAM. Anyways, on the recommendation of someone, I went to this site, and upgraded to 2 GB. As I go to put it in last night, I had some interesting issues. I would get the beep when the computer started and sometimes it would start up, but it would only show up as 1 GB of RAM and the computer would act funny. However, most of the time, the beeps were just going on at start up so finally I put in the old RAM. So as I go to take it back, does anyone have any recommendations on where else I can purchase RAM? What are the recommended places?

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You might not be fitting it correctly. It might be faulty. The "spec" is actually quite complex: much more than just the speed and type of RAM so the RAM you have may not actually be in spec...
