So, I have a white iPhone 3G, and I'd like to replace it with a black 3G case, because my white one is old and getting scratchy/dirty.

Where can I purchase authentic back case replacements (for iPhone 3G) that Apple Inc. produces, and not some alternative company?

Links, or mentioning the website would be helpful.

Thanks in advanced, everyone.

Replacing the back case of the 3g is VERY difficult. All components must be removed from the phone and case and then reassembled.

On a 3g when you take it apart the screen lifts out of the back, not the back coming off the phone. There's a few screws for the release latch, vibrator, camera, etc.

I've done it once and wouldn't recommend it. Also, the back I was able to find was not OEM, but very very close. It did need a modification for the SIM release arm.

for a 3G it's hardly worth it. if you sold it you might get $20-30 more if you lucky. most people are going to expect little wear a 3 year old device. just throw a new case on it or lucky labs cover and call it a day..
