Where did my Arrangements Tab Go?

Hi this is my second week of owning a macbook pro 2011 15" and I was messing around with the display options after i got my mini display port to hdmi cable and did something in the arrangements tab / mirroring options. Now when I connect my macbook pro to the cable my macbook pro flashes blue like its supposed to then when it comes back all I see is my wallpaper no dock or icons on the wallpaper. How can I fix this?
