where did my photos go?

I updated to to iOS6 and used the backup but now all my photos are missing...I figured since I restored from the backup that everything would remain the same and I would not lose my photos...any one know a way to help?

They might be in the cloud? try turning on photostream and they might appear. That or just try backing up again.

If your photos were added using the Photos tab in iTunes (either by a folder or iPhoto), you have to sync them again.
