Where did Text Edit Go?

Recently i noticed .txt and .rtf files opening in xcode, i thought it was just a glitch, until i tried to find text edit. For some reason text edit is gone i looked for it in spotlight and its gone. Is there anyway i can install it again off of the restore disks?

The general answer to this sort of question is : Pacifist.

It lets you install individual apps from the install discs.
