With the latest update to the Apple website for the iPad the Downloads section seems to have disappeared. Maybe I just missed it but I can't seem to find it anymore.

Yesterday, you could find downloads by going to Support, and then Communities. The Downloads button would appear then. Though, as pointed out above, the direct link still worked - at least yesterday.

Just now (Saturday morning, Pacific Time) when you click on the Communities link, you will get a "Back Soon" message, and the page is all messed up. So .... my advice is wait a few days and let Apple sort out whatever it is they forgot to do yesterday.

Wow, they did make it hard(er) to find downloads. 3rd party downloads are almost hidden. Way to go Apple, build that wall higher...

I think this will be big news on Monday...

I first wrote about this in another thread.

My theory is that Apple have something else planned for Mac software distribution, learning lessons from the App Store.

Still, I think it's poor there isn't a link from the Mac OS X pages.
