Where do I get the correct ipsw file from for 3g??? Please help

I have run the latest pwnage tool and downloaded the latest firmware for my 3g and it tells me I have the wrong firmware bundle... What's going on???

Excuse my ignorance since I'm a noob, but since you have the 3G, why not update through itunes and then JB with Redsn0w then unlock with Ultrasn0w?
