Hey everyone,

I've just taken the plunge and ordered a new MBP on Friday. The FedEx tracking page says it shipped from Shanghai, China, at 3:27PM on June 23 (assuming its local time) - after refreshing it for the 700th time today though, I was wondering if anyone has ordered recently and knows where it will likely go next? My delivery location is going to be San Francisco, CA - hopefully it doesn't get routed through Memphis first.

I feel like Cartman waiting for the Nintendo Wii...

Considering the Fedex Distribution is in Memphis, it's be hard pressed for the shipment not to go through there.

Ditto and then chicago.

Although don't worry about tracking. Mine shipped on May 19th I checked tracking on the 24th and it gave me info about the 22nd -- but when I checked on the 23rd it didn't have that info. So I think updates going through customs aren't real time.

Mine was shipped from CA I believe, then went east to Memphis, then North to Canada.

This is the same for virtually all FedEx shipments. Memphis (as people have mentioned) is FedEx's hub for N.America. Pretty much any FedEx shipment that comes across country or international is routed there their massive sorting facility there. It might seem counter-productive, but damn if they don't get the job done quickly.

i remember my macbook shipping was ridiculous

flew from china to Seattle, then somewhere east, drove to Buffalo, then flew to Toronto, and then back west to Vancouver.

what a waste time.....

Chances are,

it goes to Alaska first then to Memphis.

When I got my replacement MB 2 years ago, I joked with my friend that it must have came on a boat from China to Alaska because it took so long.

Mine went from China to Alaska then from Alaska to Indiana and now it says that it's 'in transit' and Im awaiting the next location to come up.

The first go to Memphis - to have the lid properly warped

Then they go to California - to have the "hiss" put in the speakers

Then they go to Alaska - to have the screen properly messed up

Then they go to New York - to have the extra heaters put in them

Then and only then do they get shipped to you
