If I enter a note on the iPhone, where on my Mac does it save to? I know that iCal and the address book sync with each other, but is that the case with those notes?

In a mysterious file in your iTunes backup.

So I guess there is no way to enter a note on my Mac and they have it sync over to the iPhone. That's too bad.

I'll have to look for an app that will allow me to do that. It sure would come in handy.

I'm with you on this. I like the fact that I can e-mail a note to someone without automatically deleting it. Regardless of what Apple wants us to believe, the iPhone keyboard is not built for anyone with human hands. Having a message saved in the notepad comes in handy if you want to send out the same basic note to different people.

Yeah, I was asking the same question, can't apple work on a sync to those little stickies at least, a folder of txt documents? I hope this gets fixed, I have a couple dozen memos from my treo 680 I"m not looking type manually.

try Evernote (http://www.evernote.com/) its free and does an amaizing job with notes. the only problem i have with it is if you don't have an internet connection you can't see your notes on the iPhone - i wish they would give us a off line viewing option.

Ya evernote is cool. I've been using it for a few days now. Works on the iPhone, the web and a standalone client and all synced. You can do text notes, pictures with notes, audio notes. On the stand alone client you can grab parts of webpages and make them a note etc. All searchable.

It even has searchable text within images somehow. Pretty nifty stuff.

"Notes" sync to...

Had the same question, followed a reply in this thread, still didn't get it, then stumbled across all of my Notes from my iPhone.

Found them in the Mac Mail app under "Reminders". Had to click the dropdown triangle for Reminders/Notes/On My Mac. There were all my Notes from my iPhone!

Hope this helps...

Notes sync to the mail app via itunes on the mac and if you have mobileme it backs it up there as well. You can make changes to your notes in the mail app as well.

Notes sync to outlook via itunes on the PC.

Yep, it syncs to Outlook. I wish it did it via mobileMe though.

I just saw you message. Does it automatically back it up to MobileMe or do I need to set it up?

The notes are synced to mail account , if you write a note in your mail it will sync to your iPhone.

On Macs, under REMINDERS in Apple Mail, you can now create NEW notes, alter their font(s), and cut and paste info from old Palm memos, Stickies, etc. -- still not as good as if they would sync outright, but much better. At least now we can copy the entire Memo/Note/Sticky and paste into a note and sync with the iPhone.

It does seem that even when changing the font of the body of the new note, the heading remains in "Marker Felt" font. Baby steps, Apple ...

I can tell you how to sync notes from my iPod Touch to my Mac.
You will need to use the Mac Mail Application and couple of settings in iTunes.

Once you plug your iPod Touch and bring up itunes, go to you device in iTunes and select the Info Tab. Scroll down until you see the "Other" section and check the Sync Notes radio button. Now go to your Mail App on your Mac and look under reminders. Your notes from iPod will show up after syncing and if you create new notes in The Mail App, they will sync back to your iPod.
Hope things work

It depends on your email.

I use gmail so it will sync back to mail on my mac but it will also create a folder on my gmail account and sync the notes to that. You can see this by going into your gmail folders.

However I find apples notes rather limited so I use 'awesome notes' instead and this can be synced with evernotes and google if you wish

good note app

I'm just looking for a good note app that doesn't necessairly sync, but that I won't lose all my notes. Any suggestions??
:)
