For those of you who simply swapped the HDD with an SSD. Where do you keep the HDD?
In case i sell my MBP, can i take the SSD out and put it in another macbook? (Just wondering in case i'll ever upgrade to a newer one)

I don't think im interested in optibay, i kinda like having the cd/dvd option as i do use it from time to time

When I first upgraded my 2009 MBP with an SSD, I just put the HDD into an external enclosure for 2.5" S-ATA HDDs, using the USB 2.0 interface. Such enclosures can be had for 10€ and more.
As I have multiple external HDDs in 3.5" and 2.5" form factor, I also opted for one 2.5" enclosure using Firewire 800 as interface, as it is faster than USB 2.0.
My 3.5" HDDs are all in enclosures with at least Firewire 800 or/and eSATA.

Yes, you can.

Some Optibay sets, the more expensive ones, offer an external enclosure for those Superdrives, connectable via USB 2.0, which is fast enough for optical media.
