I’ve noticed something that has confused me about iOS 11’s file management.
I have about 5 GB of PDF files in iCloud Drives PDF Expert’s folder. These are cached on my iPad beciase I can open them all with no internet connection. I can also open them from the Files app without any network connection. However, under the “iPad Storage” section if Settingd it says that PDF Expert is using 90 MB for the app and only 3 MB of Documents and Data. I thought perhaps it would instead be reported under the Files’ app storage, but that only reports 8 MB of strange as well.
Does anyone know where I could monitor the size of these caches under iOS 11?
As much as I like iOS, the lack of control over files or caches is my #1 issue and the main reason I restore devices - which I’m sure isn’t necessary, but I like to clear the endless “Data” storage that grows on my devices.
