Where does Mail pull certain info from?

I have a quick question on Mail.

When I go to compose a new message, when I entered in the email address, it will attempt to auto-complete it. However, it's pulling up names that are not in my address book; it's pulling names of people I emailed once a year ago.

How can I get it not to pull older names/names not in the address book?
