I downloaded the new update and it froze and quite so when I went back to AutoUpdate to try and install the update again, it started downloading the update again. Where does it keep the downloaded update files? I don't want a 180MB file to be on my HD uselessly.

Microsoft is starting to get on my nerves. I searched forums, google, everything and I couldn't find where AutoUpdate keeps it's damn files on a Mac. I downloaded that stupid update THREE (now FOUR) times and it never installs. ARGH It's got a micro-brain.

Office 2011 location

Since I searched on this one to no avail...

In Office 2011, Microsoft Autoupdate stores the downloaded files in ~/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems - and then a subfolder called something like MSau_19111 (where 19111 is the process ID of the download).
