With the new iMacs (Aluminum), I think the processor is in the middle-left side. I think the same is with the older white iMacs.

Check an opened up iMac here.

Can some one please tell with the iMac does the internal cooling fans draw the cooling air from the bottom of the computer , may be through the built in speakers , or RAM access panel ..? and then exhaust the warm air through the
top vent slot on the back black panel ..? have I got this correct ..?

My new iMac 2.8 gets hotter at the top middle over the iSight camera ( 39 oC )

Not sure with the new iMacs, but with the older white ones - they pulled air from a circular vent in the back (near the middle) and pushed it to the top slot-like vent.
