Where have you lived? (and how long?)

I've lived in Denver for my entire short life, though I hope I'll be able to live in other places as well.

Where have you lived, and how long?
 
Interesting question.

Birth through 7th grade: Dayton, Ohio
8th through 9th grade: Birmingham, Michigan
10th through 11th grade: Cincinnati, Ohio
12th grade: Birmingham, Michigan

College: Oxford, Ohio
Summer of junior year: Cirencester, England (I wish I could have stayed.)

First job: Lima, Ohio
Second job: State College, Pennsylvania
Third job: Dayton, Ohio
Fourth job: Dayton, Ohio
Fifth job: Cincinnati, Ohio
Sixth job: Chicago, Illinois
 
South Dakota until age 17. (The rest aren't chronological in order)
Maryland for 4 months.
Texas for 5 years.
Germany for 2 years.
Washington, D.C. for 1 year.
Northern Africa (near Egypt) for 2 months.
Honduras for 3 months.
Saudi Arabia for 7 months.
Iraq for 6 months.
A few other places that were for < 2 months, so I left them out.
Back to South Dakota for life (or until global warming forces me to move).

Out of these places, my favorites were Texas, Germany (because of how easy it was to travel to Austria), and of course SD. Least favorite were Iraq, Honduras, and Washington, D.C.

What made you live in all of those places?
 
Pittsburgh for 18 years
State College for 5
Japan for 6 months
Germany for going on 3 years now.

I loved Japan the most and am just using my job in Germany to save up money to go back, Germany just doesn't do it for me
 
Cherry Hills in suburban Denver gets the largest number of years, in bits and pieces......currently I'm in Los Angeles where I've been for years and years

Incidentally, the neighborhood my family has lived in for thirty years.

Small world...
 
  • Los Angeles, California (Woodland Hills, Malibu, Brentwood) - most my life
  • Seattle, Washington then Spokane, WA - too long, hated it.
  • Tampa, Florida (Valrico) - not long enough, loved it
  • London, England (the outskirts of) - coming up on 2 years now. :)
 
I was born in Gorkyi, USSR.
The name of the city has changed as the name of the country I live. :D
Now thу name of the city is Nizhny Novgorod. It is the 3rd biggest Russian city after Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Anyway me and my family left it when I was about 2. :) But still I have there many relatives and I visit them regularly.
Then we moved to Moscow region. We lived there in a small small military village as my father was an officer. Then we moved to the one of the Moscow's region city. Not a big one.
And finally we moved to Moscow in 1999. And I still live there.
In one month I am going to live alone having my own flat. :)

17~24: Valencia again (now)
24~25: In the near future, on the road, in Australia. :cool:

Hopefully someday I'll be able to find a place where I want to stay permanently.

So ready to leave and experience something out west, but no opportunity in sight ~sigh~:(
