Hey I was just wondering, where the hell is it? I'm a Windows XP user (I'd love to have a Mac but I don't have the funds) and Safari works pretty good, but you can notice it is still beta. When 10.4.11 is avaible I bet Safari is out of beta too, which is good for me.

Where is it?!

I think the work is currently being concentrated on getting 10.5.1 out and is delaying 10.4.11

That's ridiculous... Apple should hire more people then, most of the userbase is still Tiger so I don't get this.. Damn Apple give me Safari 3:mad:

As Steve Jobs has said, loosely quoted, "If it were just a matter of writing a check to get great software, Microsoft would have the best of everything".

Throwing more people at a project does not equate to quality or less bugs.

Nice quote, but what I ment is that when they hire more people to work simultaniously on Leopard and Tiger. So they don't rush it, but can get more time on Tiger. Isn't that a great idea:rolleyes:they should hire me:rolleyes:

Apparently no one in this thread, so far, is a hard-core mac user who knows the history of Apple and their dev teams. This is not MS, the development teams are indeed small and why they often cancel, pull and delay projects to get other projects finished. This is good/bad. Its good because few problems and software cohesion is MUCH better than the big guys where the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Its bad because fewer eyes find less flaws.

But OP is a windows user and all the OP wants is Safari 3 anyway. So why not ask where Safari 3 is? Oh, that would still be a stupid question though, like mine. I need Vista service pack 1! Where the hell is that! I mean Vista is nice, but is still feels like a beta....

I use both. My dad has a Mac, and I use Mac all the time at school. So it would be nice to have more of a shared environment. Use Mac at school, go home and use sort of the same. You get what I mean;)? And ofcourse I understand that Apple is using small teams, which preserves quality, and I love that of Apple. Only thing I asked, is where 10.4.11 is? Was that so wrong?

The later 10.4.11 turns up, the better - provided it does turn up in the end. I'd much rather 10.4 is supported for a longer time, so any delay makes it more likely to be compatible for longer = good.

What is wrong with 10.4.10 that makes the need for 10.4.11 so urgent?

he wants 10.4.11 to be released because he thinks Windows Safari 3 (non-beta) will be released with it. I don't know if anyone knows for sure if this will be true, but it seems likely. I love Safari but on PC I usually just use Firefox.

To the OP:

So, you need 10.4.11 but don't have a Mac? You must be running a Hackintosh... and by the tone of your post, you sound like a snippy impatient Windows user. If your having trouble running 10.4.10 on your PC, I suggest you buy a Mac. That would solve your problem while keeping you honest at the same time.

Did you read the first post.

:confused::confused:

The op wants to have an updated version of Safari and thinks this will come out with 10.4.11.

Wtf is wrong with these people:S One of the few persons that is reacting normal is XUKHCx!! Like I said, I use Mac at school and on my dad's Mac. That's why I wan't Safari 3 for Windows that will ease switching between Mac and Windows everyday. No I don't use a Hackintosh, it's Windows. Yes I would like to have a Mac, I LOVE MACS, I'm a fanboy over the top but I'm 16 and don't have funds.

Now what the hell did people like THX1139 did not understand out of this?

And I agree, the longer 10.4.11 keeps it's wait, the better it will probably be. I wonder if we'll ever see 10.4.12:eek:

Seems as if everyone needs to step back, breathe, and read AOL's ancient guidelines for forums.

Courtesy of AOL said:
Read the message board for a while before participating (or this thread)
It's best to browse a board for a while -- just reading -- before you post your first message. Read a couple week's worth of messages the first time you visit a board, and then read new messages for another couple of days. You'll see what topics are hot and which are cold, you'll get to know some of the key participants, and you'll become familiar with the demeanor of the board. Each one is different.

Communicate clearly
Write clearly when you compose a message. Review your message carefully before clicking Send; typos are confusing. Remember, if your message can be misunderstood, it will be.

Refrain from using ALL CAPS (hyper's addition: and lots of punctuation)
Typing in all capital letters (and using lots of punctuation)is frowned upon; it's the equivalent of screaming at everyone. It also makes your message more difficult to read.

Don't post meaningless messages
Posting messages that say nothing more than "Me too" is a quick way to irritate other members. If you agree with a posting, either enjoy your consent by yourself or reply with an informative comment about why you agree. Imagine how dull a board would get if it contained nothing but hundreds of "me too's."

Consider sending a reply by e-mail
Some replies are better sent as e-mail, rather than posted to a board. Personal messages and especially critical comments are more appropriate when sent directly and privately. There's an E-mail to Author option on every Post Response form; don't forget this option.

Afterward we sit back, think awhile and wonder... is arguing over 10.4.11 really worth it? Heck, maybe the thread should have been asking when Safari 3 would be ready for Windows, just to have saved everyone the hassle. Is swearing, even with **** really needed? Just pretend you are in class or a lecture hall: is this the 5p33k you would use there?

Safari for Windows is a beta product: if you are unsatisfied with that and would like cross-platform unity in stable code, then consider Firefox or Opera which should satisfy thirst for one browser to rule them all, until Safari 3 is completed.

You are apparently still in school, so its understandable that you don't know what is going on in the real world. Try hiring a bunch of talented software engineers in the San Fran area... or any decent metropolitan area for that matter. It is HARD to find them! I'd prefer a delay to Apple hiring a bunch of poor computer programmers (they are EASY to find).

Also, I'm gonna laugh when 10.4.11 comes out and Windows Safari 3 stays in beta. Although, on the other hand, I'm suffering with this horrible beta on Windows too, so hopefully we'll get an updated build soon. Or maybe I should just stop subjecting myself to this pain and go back to living in luxury in IE7. Thank goodness, Safari isn't this bad on it's native OS.

I don't have any problems with 10.4.10 and i don't think Safari 3 non beta will come out with it at the same time;

But, How long will Mac OS X Tiger be supported by Apple?

Well considering there are still selling OS X a little while yet :p

If you meant Tiger, which i assume you do, going from memory Panther had a release and then a couple of security updates to it while Tiger was the top dog.

So there is probably a couple more months of Tiger support to come.
