Where is beta 2?

Was I the only one expecting beta 2 on Tuesday? Thought they normally released the betas every 2 weeks?

Was I the only one expecting beta 2 on Tuesday? Thought they normally released the betas every 2 weeks?

Yeah I was expecting it too. I woke up at 1:00 P.M. (eastern time) to check and nothing popped up, so I was like, "ok..." Hopefully, we'll see it soon!

Someone else around here suggested that until Lion goes on general release, iOS betas might be slow to come. Can't argue with that logic; we know Apple keeps a tight dev team and they get shifted around a lot.

I gather apple release betas on Mondays or Thursdays. Monday was the first 'expected' date for a possible beta 2. Today is another possibility.

Considering how long it's taken Apple to get this far on ios5 you'd think they want to get moving.

Someone was making that up. There have been no official sources or rumors to come out about the next beta release. But like someone said, thursdays historically have been another day betas got released, so it could come out later this afternoon. If not, then it's unpredictable when it will come out since historically this is the longest it's taken Apple to get a new beta iOS out.

I think that you can expect one out later today (1ish-2ish ET). If that's not the case, Apple has moved away from its traditional beta release cycle and it's anyone's guess.

I remember listening to either an episode of TWiT or Buzz out Loud, and they discussed some group like Webster's or Oxford and how they were seriously trying to figure out a proper symbol to add to keyboards and whatnot that would indicate sarcasm.

I feel like it was similar to the @ symbol but different somehow.

So far this has been representing Sarcastic comments, but I forgot to use it in my reply to above poster. Their was even a discussion last year on the 'Site and Feedback' section to create color coded responses for different moods/reactions.

I don't expect one till next week at this stage. Usually the betas come out early morning, around 11am Eastern. Because nothing is out by now, I'd be very surprised to see something today. Perhaps it's now new betas every three weeks...

Someone posted earlier a good reason. WWDC may have caused a lag of a week this go around. I guess we'll see next Tuesday if that guess was right.
