Where is MBP's build-in microphone? Will it be impacted at clamshell mode?

I am using the external LCD during working time. Sometime I closed the lid to run as clamshell mode (Lid closed, MPB screen off, and using external monitor).

I am curious where is MBP's microphone, will it be impacted when lid closed?

Under the speaker grille. It will be impacted when the lid is closed.

So I guess you'd want to buy an external (USB?) mic for this..
