I downloaded the Xcode update and in LaunchPad there is an icon which is named 'Install Xcode'. I want to make a copy of the original install file and put it on my MBP, to save downloaded 1.80GB again.

Where is the actual file? I have searched the hard drive and enabled the view of hidden files, but I still can't find it. Is there an option to 'show in finder' in Launchpad, because I cannot find it.

Thanks

OK. I dragged it to the dock and then right clicked it and got the 'show in finder' option.

Hi Dave,

Not in the downloads folder as it was downloaded from the App Store.

It ended up on my network drive where I had a previous download from ages ago.
