I found this gorgeous wallpaper, it's a stunning picture of the Chicago skyline and I can't remember where I got it and I want to make a copy of it to send for a few friends and also to have as a backup. Thing is, I can't find out where it is currently saved in the harddrive. Knowing myself, when I spotted it I probably set it as a wallpaper directly from Safari without ever saving the file. A bad move on my part.

Does anyone know if it's saved anywhere in the hard drive though so I can recover it?

Thanks in advance! :apple:

Mac HD/Library/Desktop Pictures

However, you could have selected it from the web, in which case I don't think it has to be downloaded (maybe it saves it in that folder, I'm not sure). Otherwise, check your downloads folder in User/Downloads.

If you didn't get it that long ago you could go through your web history.

I don't see it in that folder. Thing is I applied it as a wallpaper from Safari directly without ever saving it. But because it's always displayed on my laptop, even after I reboot it, it has to be saved somewhere regardless, right?

I found a file in there but that was my previous wallpaper, not the current one :Z

Aight I'll reboot and try again just in case :)
my computer hasn't been rebooted in weeks now, that might be a reason why

Any currently selected Desktop can be saved by click dragging it out of the preview box to the desktop in System Prefs > Desktops.
