Where is new itunes ?

I think Apple learned their lesson with the 3G activation problems. They won't be doing any huge launches anytime soon.
I'd bet they'll start releasing iTunes 8 slowly to different servers throughout the day. People in different time zones might see it show up at different times. All so they can keep an eye on it and not let it get out of hand.
I'd bet iPhone 2.1 software is ready today, but they're holding it to Friday for the same reason.
They don't want the same bad publicity all over again.

Are you on /uk/itunes/download? try the generic one www.apple.com/itunes/download - works for me! Downloading here on both my Mac and Windows Vista x64 PC.
Mac is 'iTunes8.dmg'
Vista x64 is 'iTunes864Setup.exe'

I can see it on apple.com, but where is it when I check for updates or in apple software updater?
Can you jst download 8 and its updates your libraby etc?
Wow... I downloaded the update after installing the Front Row and QuickTime updates (this is on an iMac). When I try to start iTunes, it just crashes instantly. Fantastic stuff.
Of note is "iTunes Visualizer" (The old one is now called "classic"), which looks like Magnetosphere.
