Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I need to rid of a relatively new Macbook Pro. I paid a great deal of money for it (just about $3600 all said and done) and need to sell it to get an older model for some obvious reasons.

I understand that I'm going to take a hefty hit by selling it - but i'm most likely going for the 2015 model, which I'm hoping I might be able to at least cover the MSRP of that model back.

In a nutshell, where is the best place to resell a Macbook? (aside from Craigslist as I don't want to deal with a transaction of that amount on a sketchy platform)

Selling something on Craigslist can be successful if you take precautions. Meet the prospective buyer in a public place such as a local Starbucks (where you can show WiFi) or at your bank. Only accept payment in cash and do not offer a personal warranty. Of course if your MacBook Pro is still covered by Apple Care that will be a good selling point.

Other folks will likely share their experiences. Good luck with the sale. :)
