Hi guys,
I'm really sorry, but I can't find the list with the mac rumors ranks anymore.
Is it gone from FAQ/Rules? That section seems redesigned to me, but maybe I'm just to stupid right now ;)

How Do User Titles Work?
User titles are based on post counts:

Newbie => 0 - 29 posts
Member => 30 posts
Regular => 100 posts (minimum required to post in the Politics, Religion, Social Issues forum)
6502 => 250 posts (minimum required for access to the Marketplace forum)
6502a => 500 posts (minimum required to have an avatar)
65816 => 1,000 posts
65832 => 1,500 posts
68000 => 1,505 posts
68010 => 2,000 posts
68020 => 2,005 posts
68030 => 2,500 posts
68040 => 3,000 posts
601 => 4,000 posts
603 => 5,000 posts
604 => 6,500 posts
G3 => 8,000 posts
G4 => 10,000 posts
G5 => 12,000 posts

etc....

Special titles for forum members:

Demi-God, Demi-Goddess, or Contributor => Member who has contributed to the site and has chosen to use one of those three titles.

Special titles for the MacRumors staff and volunteers:

Moderator => Forum moderator
Administrator => Forum administrator
Editor or Contributing Editor => Member who writes news content for the site
Moderator emeritus => Member who is a former moderator
[other title] emeritus => Member who formerly held the specified role

The numbers come from the increasingly powerful microprocessors used in Apple computers over the years. The 6502 and 658xx are from the Apple II family, 680x0 were used in early Macintosh systems, 601 and beyond are PowerPC chips.

I've seen 'Macrumors Core' as a title... is there a secret list beyond the Gx tier, or has that article not been updated?

Cheers!

When the list was revised, titles not listed were left off on purpose so members could either speculate what they would be and at what post level or to find out once obtained.

The article hasn't been updated.
Here is a thread concerning that: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1518425/

Yep, those were the threads that inspired me to follow up and ask, since I hadn't found a direct answer to what and where the extra titles were.

Sneaky. :p

Also, having lurked macrumors for years but only signed up recently, it's almost like meeting a celebrity to be replied to by users that I recognize. Weird. Thanks all!

Yeah, but don't hold your breath on getting an autograph from SandboxGeneral or simsaladimbamba! They're WAY too important! :D

Ah, it is always so sad when one's childhood heroes (and while I really liked Captain Kirk, I utterly revered Mr Spock, who was more than hero, but ranked as a role model) display such crude…….greed…...

Yep. I went to the Comic Con in Detroit this summer and those were the prices, IIRC, that he charged at his booth. People were lined up to see him 3 hours before his arrival. While I like him as an actor, though Shrink doesn't, I don't like him, or any actor/actress, so much that I'm going to pay them for an autograph or a photograph. I left the convention hours before his planned arrival.

Sooo... my curiosity has been piqued, and I've done some investigation and found a couple more secret titles. ;)

If I were to start a thread documenting them, would it get closed due to you moderators' desire for secrecy?

Nope, I don't think we'd close it. Once someone attains the title, then its obviously public. There's no harm in speculating either. We kind of hoped someone would have put a list together of their theories so everyone could see how accurate it was once actual titles were earned. Sort of a fun guessing game.

I'll get on it!
