Gen1 Touch... click speaker- really?

Mine has been mute since new... even with the setting to 'both' in the clicks menu. I always assumed it was a carry-over setting from iPhones, but now I read that iPod Touch models also are supposed to click. Is mine defective?

Yeah, it very well may be. Mine clicks just fine (although I find the sound annoying, so it's always disabled) ...
