Ok, so i was just cleaning my MacBook today, and i noticed something i dont like. Where it says macbook (under the screen) if you push that, its squishy! just like how the screws by the ports are. Is this normal? can some people who have one check!?

It is the same for me, it is just the way that it is made, no need to worry.

Yeah, really.

My macbook is the very first generation mind you, maybe this is something that's come up in later revisions?

Mine moves around a lot too. I can even pull it towards me.

I have the late 2007 model MacBook.

When I push it, its rock-hard. When I pull it with my fingernail, its a little flexible. Nothing to worry.

If it helps, mine is also the late-2007 model. It is not too much of an issue, as it never really hit me as much of an issue at all.

Its plastic, it is going to flex a bit no matter what. Unless they reinforce the frame its gonna move on you. Just stop playing around with it, the more you flex it the more it stresses it. The more it is stressed the more likely it is that it will break. geesh.

Funny enough i was googling about my own macbook, and although mine isn't as squishy as you say it is below where you say it is, the left side where the ports are is squishy and so is the upper part of my slot drive on the right side. Don't think its a major problem tho...

Mine's squishy just 'below' (towards the trackpad) the ports on the left side, like, exactly on that first screw. At the right side, just around the corner with the ir-port, inbetween the two screws. And on the 'MacBook' place like the OP has, it's nothing too squishy though, although when I tried 'pulling' with the finger nail it made a 'clicky' sound.. scary..
The most anoying is the margin between screen and the lower part of the frame of the monitor, the dust my monitor attracts tends to collect there.. Anyone got some cleaning tips? XD

There are a series of clips along the bottom edge of the bezel which sometimes don't clip in properly - hence why it is squishy.

Try pushing as low down on the bezel and see if anything snaps into place. Most of them also seem to have glue/adhesive along the very bottom of the bezel which sounds like the clips are not up to the job.

are you talking about where it says "MacBook" or along the ports??

Sorry - where it says MacBook on the bezel around the screen.

If you are feeling brave you can pull the bezel off completely and make sure that all the clips are seating properly.

My 2004 model iBook is perfectly solid. Does that help? :)
Sorry. I think Apple's quality may be going downhill. My ole' iBook is still solid and has been dropped on concrete a few times. Haha, my bad.
