A member of strangedog's by the name of rubytuesday. Seems to have a good rep over there, and offers a lot of info about flashing. He's a mod there too, so I think he's pretty legit.
I found this thread while googling Geforce 7800 info and thought people here might be in great need of an IMPORTANT UPDATE to all of the bad recommendations and advice in this thread (hindsight is 20/20)...
These 7800 cards are still available at Newegg and they are exceptionally easy to flash if you have access to a PC. Why wait 6 months to never for a Geforce 7800 from these shady Strangedogs.com moderators like Rubytuesday (who's now permanently disappeared) when in that amount of time you could easily do it yourself? It's a no-brainer.
Plus, you'll definitely want to avoid
www.Strangedogs.Proboards40.com and that Rubytuesday guy like the plague! If you read
www.MacLife.com, you can plainly see he took quite a few people for THOUSANDS of dollars @ $700+ each! OUCH!
And now another moderator there, NVFLASH, now owes people cards and money and the complaints are piling up again at Strangedogs . It's just one scam after another over there and it appears all these scams have finally caught up with them as it seems they lost their domain name and are getting the boot from Proboards too. At least that's what it looks like from reading their website recently where they fiercely claim it's not because of a lawsuit, blah blah blah. Haha. Too funny.
Having purchased a video card from practically everyone on ebay and at least 2 of the strangedogs.com con artists, I'd have to say the best people to get a Geforce 7800 from is Mac_Geniuses on ebay, although Applemacanix is pretty reputable too (he just seems to know less about Macs).
Just my 2¢ to save people here all the heartache of the poor MacLife people who got really scammed by Strangedogs.proboards40.com.
