I don't know if this could work for you, but my school in Korea has a licensing deal with MS that lets full-time students and staff use Windows 7 for free. Of course, once I graduate, I would lose rights to it, but I'm not complaining and once I get a job, I could afford a copy of Windows.

Try asking the school's IT department. Who knows?

Check if your school has an MSDNAA account where you can get Windows 7 free, otherwise they probably sell it for cheap somewhere at your school.

Otherwise, just download the Windows 8 CP for free. Ive been using it as my main OS since release.
