Apple's refurbished store is the only place I really trust for refurbished Macs. They usually have a discount of 15-20% off, but I have seen it as high as 30% off new.
Apple's refurbished Macs are put through a very thorough refurbished process that most likely much better than any other place that sells refurbished Macs. I trust Apple's refurbished Macs more than I trust their new ones.
I am not saying that I wouldn't buy another places' refurbished Mac, but if I did, it would only be because I got a killer deal.
Apple's refurbished have a full warranty and qualify for Apple Care, while many other places' refurbished Macs don't.
Plus, there is no governing law on what qualifies as "refurbished" in the US. Someone's "refurbished" process could mean wiping down the Mac with a damp cloth.
