I was going today to get the iphone 4. I was looking at Walmart and renewing At & t contract. Is there an newer version that might be more up to date of the iphone 4? Would one from Walmart be as new a version as a Best Buy or Apple store?

There has only been one hardware revision of the iPhone 4, so it doesn't matter where you purchase it. As for the software, you can update that from your computer so it doesn't matter.
