I need to free up disk space and I realize that the Render Files can be deleted, and then will be recreated as needed.

However, I've read that they should only be deleted from within FCE4 and not just purged at the disk level.

I've looked within FCE4 and cannot find any option for deleting the Render Files from within.

Where should I be looking?

Thank you,

Lyman

I don't have FCE4, but in FCP you just go Tools->Render Manager. But deleting via Finder has been fine in my experience, just make sure FCE isn't running when you do it.

Thanks. Unfortunately no such beast for purging them from within FCE4.

Thanks much for your assistance! I'll purge them manually.

Ah...may I pick your brain about AutoArchive? Can these be purged as well? Negative ramifications?

Best,

Lyman

You can delete the auto-saves as well. They are just back-up copies of your project file so there's no harm in deleting them. Just make sure you keep a few of the most recent ones around so you have back-ups incase your project gets corrupted or something.

Thank you! Figured that would be alright but did want to check first.

Many thanks again - support here is outstanding.
