Hey all,

I'm trying to find 4GB of DDR2-667 PC2 5300 RAM for this 2008 4,1 MBP I'm thinking about buying. But, I can't seem to find anything cheaper than this Mushkin kit on Newegg for $60.

It's DDR2... shouldn't it be cheaper than that?

Where can I find cheap RAM? Crucial wants $72, Newegg is $60, OWC is nearly $90...

I would try eBay too and find some Samsung RAM, it seems that MacBooks and Macs in general run better with Samsung RAM!

I just bought 8 gb ddr3 from a store called Micro Center. They're running a sale during June, so you could try their website or see if they're in your area.

DDR2 is obsolete and nearly no longer made, hence why it's more expensive. Cough up the $60, there's not way around it.
