I typed 'HD wallpaper' into Google when I wanted to change my homescreen background pic. It gave me plenty of sites and I downloaded several nice looking photos. The trouble is, when you try them out as wallpaper a lot of them don't look good because the icons cover all the best bits, or the opaque app tray and folders look lousy. It takes quite a few experiments before you find a photo that 'works'.

I use to do that but it doesn't work so well

Well, you could start with Interfacelift. Actual photos and tons of sizes for just about every device.

This is the best place to me. 1000s of pics and you can feed all your device resolution needs from this one site. Every pic is available in just about any resolution you could ever need. Lots of great nature themed shots too.

Best suggestion by far

Any more?

My favorite place to get wallpapers is from an app. I got it for free a long time ago but I believe its 0.99 now. Its called "Pimp Your Screen". All the wallpapers look great and are high definition. There is a free version supported by ads called "Wallpapers for iOS 8". Its made by the same people.
