I've got a Late 2008 MacBook Pro, the first unibody and one that still had a replaceable battery. I'm intermittently seeing a Service Battery message so I figure I should grab a new one, but it looks like Apple no longer sells them. Where's a good place to buy a replacement battery?

E-bay/Craigslist? If not in the US try the local alternatives to them in your region.

I recommend going to apple for an official battery replacement. Other sources are not as reliable and could give you a counterfeit battery which could cause other problems in the future.

Normally I'd agree, but it looks like Apple doesn't sell them anymore.

It must be receny that Apple stopped selling them. I got one for my mid-2009 13" in December 2013 from Apple at the Genius Bar. Perhaps they're not online but you can still get them in store?
